The purpose of solid waste operations is to provide curbside collection service to all residents living in single-family homes, multi-family homes with 4 or less units, ADA customers, city facilities and school dumpsters with a cost effective, environmentally correct, quality service of weekly solid waste collection.
The program goals are to provide curbside collection service to all residents living in single-family homes, multi-family homes with 4 or less units, ADA customers, city facilities and school dumpsters. Provide exceptional customer service by responding to complaints and effectively educate the public on proper handling/disposal of solid waste and potential hazards.
Early Collection Fee
Residents who place their solid waste curbside before 12:00 p.m. prior to their scheduled pickup day may be assessed an early collection fee in the amount of $125.00 in addition to any other applicable fees for solid waste. Containers must be removed from the terrace by 7:00 a.m. the following day.
The owner/occupant of the dwelling unit will be responsible for the clean up and disposal of scattered debris within 24 hours of a notice issued by the City.
Solid Waste Fee
The Solid Waste monthly fee is $16.00. This will be reflected on your monthly sewer bill.
A Solid Waste Fee allows users to pay for the services being provided to them.
Garbage Collection Information
Requirements for Placing Items Curbside
- Curbside garbage collection service is available to all residents living in single-family homes and multi-family homes with 4 or less units.
- Garbage may be placed curbside after 12:00 p.m. the day before regular scheduled trash collection.
- All garbage and recycling carts items must be removed from the terrace by 7:00 am the following day.
The following City Holidays will delay your trash collection:
Monday, May 28, 2018 – Memorial Day
Monday, September 3, 2018 – Labor Day
Thursday, November 22, 2018 – Thanksgiving Day
Tuesday, December 25, 2018 – Christmas Day
Tuesday, January 1, 2019 – New Year’s Day
Items NOT Collected Curbside Include:
- Automobile Parts
- Waste Oil/Oil Filters
- Any Item With A Gas Tank
- Auto Batteries
- *Construction/Building Materials (1 container per week limit)
- Uncontained Trash
- Yard Waste (December – March)
- **Hazardous material
TIP: Waste oil, automotive batteries, antifreeze and tires are not accepted curbside. They must be taken to the Recycling Drop Off Center at the Public Works Operations Facility, 2351 Springbrook Court, Saturdays 9:00-Noon.
